The breakfast of champions!

I’ve already blogged once today, I just wanted to show you this.

When I’m talking about starting the day with top quality fats, proteins, some light carbs and enough micronutrients to uppercut a rhino, my wifey certainly delivers! Here’s what she cooked for us this morning:

  • Baked salmon
  • Pickled beetroot
  • Salad leaves
  • Organic-butter-braised-medley: mushrooms, courgettes and tomatoes with crushed garlic
  • Pumpkin and sunflower seeds, smattering of coarse ground black pepper

This is what you want your breakfast to look like. It will feed and nourish you, and the high protein and polyunsaturated fat combination of the salmon will keep you feeling full and diminish your need for snacking (so great for weight loss) and the mix of complex carbohydrates in the beetroot and seeds, along with the partially-broken carbohydrates in the medley mean that you’ll get immediate (within 1/2 hour) as well as long term (2-4 hours) energy release to fuel your morning workout or other Sunday morning activities (nudge nudge, wink wink).

PS for muscle mass gain just cook up an extra bit of salmon while you’re doing this to be gobbled later as a snack - pre or post workout, either one works.
